Is Surgery Really The Best Option For Snoring?

If you’ve been dealing with snoring for any length of time, then you know how frustrating it can be.  You are asleep and have practically no control over this problem.  There’s a good chance that you are waking up your spouse and other family members (And real quick, don’t forget to read my recent post about how snoring affects relationships).  And on top of that, you’re also screwing up your own sleep and waking up exhausted the next day.

Surgery can sound like a good option to some people.  But I think a lot of people only get to that point because they don’t know about the other options that are available.

Think about it for a second… do you really want to go under the knife just to get rid of an annoying/troublesome snoring problem?  When I think about it in those terms, I don’t really see surgery as an option.

And like I said, most people only consider surgery because they are out of options.

What most people haven’t seen is that there are many different options and treatments available for snoring today.  Just take a look at the review I posted for the My Snoring Solution device.  It is a chin strap device that hooks to your head while you sleep and adjusts your airflow – stopping snoring.  Some people swear by it and give it credit for stopping their snoring.

And that’s just one option.  There are a handful of other snoring treatments that you can consider and should consider before doing anything that involves invasive surgery.

NOTE: Please see a doctor and have them give you medical advice about your snoring.

How To Stop Snoring And Get A Good Night’s Rest

Snoring has got to be the most troublesome thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life.  I’m not saying that to be funny either.  Yes; there are other things in life that have been more painful and have left a bigger impact overall, but snoring is different.

Stopping snoring has been almost impossible for me because I’m such a heavy sleeper.  And to tell you the truth, I actually didn’t even knew that I snored until I moved in with my girlfriend at the time (now my wife).  She would wake me up in the middle of the night with an elbow to the side.  “Quite!” she’d murmur.

It’s was fairly funny at first, but then she started losing sleep over my loud snoring at night.  She would wake up crabby and in a generally bad mood the next morning.  I remember the first time we had a fight in the morning and I didn’t even realize that my snoring had caused her crankiness until I left for work.

And that is when I went on my search for a cure.  I knew for sure that I wasn’t going to go under the knife in surgery to get rid of this problem.  But I was still determined to find a solution.

I must have spent not only hours, but weeks searching for something.  I actually started by asking my buddy at work if he had ever dealt with snoring and he said no.  Then I broadened my search and finally came across a cousin who said he used to snore just like I did.  That is when he told me about the product called My Snoring Solution.  He said that it was a chin strap that goes on your head and it realigns your airway.

I wasn’t as convinced that it worked as he was at the time, so I went out and did some research on the Internet.  Turns out that he wasn’t alone in saying that this thing worked pretty well.  I found a lot of people on the Internet giving it good reviews.  I also found one or two people that didn’t like the product, but I guess there are always the complainers in the bunch.

Needless to say, I’ve really cut down my snoring now.  My wife is sleeping through the night and I’m back to having a happy marriage – well.. most of the time.

Here is some more information for the My Snoring Solution that I posted awhile back.  I just wanted to share some background on my interest for the product so that you guys could get a feel for who I am.

Snoring Is A Marriage Killer

Last night, my wife woke me out of what I thought was a nice deep peaceful sleep.  As I came to my sense, I could hear my wife mumbling something angry under her breath.

Apparently I was snoring so loud that I woke her up at two in the morning.  And even though I’d like to say that this was the first time, I can’t.  I wake my wife up about two to three times a week with my snoring.

Should I Have Looked At My Snoring Solution Years Ago?

I guess I’m just sharing this short little tid bit from my life because it matters.  It’s really been affecting our relationship.  I think that it has a lot to do with the fact that my wife doesn’t sleep very well.

And if you’re wondering, we have tried sleeping in different rooms – another problem unto itself!  So with that out of the question, I have to start looking for a solution.

I’m sick and tired of this snoring (something out of my control) causing so much trouble in my marriage.
